Recently, I read Mill River Recluse by Darcie Chan, and was able to find this sequel at my local library. I enjoyed reading this one more than the first. The Mill River Redemption was a little less predictable than the first.
The Mill River Redemption tells the story of a newly widowed mother of two girls, who have moved to Mill River to live close to an aunt. Josie becomes the recipient of a gift from Mary, the recluse of the original book, and raises her two daughters. Approximately 20 years later, and several months after Mary's death, Josie dies and bequeaths her estate to Emily and Rose, only if they work together to find a key, in the hopes that they reconcile.
This book brings back some of the characters of the original, and ties up a few loose ends from "Recluse." There is a surprise or two at the end that I didn't see coming.
