Waking the Dead by Heather Graham

Waking the Dead is one of my favorites of Heather Graham. The plot follows a painting from 1816 that has a reputation for bring death to people around it. It is purchased by a rich widow in New Orleans, and on the day it arrives people start mysteriously dying. This mystery brings Danni Cafferty, an antiques dealer, and Michael Quinn, a former police detective turned private detective, together with the police to solve the murders and to find the original after it was stolen.
Heather Graham, as usual, brings in some romance to the story. She, also, includes the French Quarter and it's reputation for paranormal into the plot. For me, a good Heather Graham is a "weekend read" or a "vacation read." Her stories are easy to read and follow. There was one part of the plot line that I thought was a little predictable, but it did not bother me too much.
