Stone Cove Island is not the Stephen King versus the Stepford Wives that I expected. I did enjoy the book. A hurricane hits a small New England island, leaving it without power and supplies. During the initial cleanup, Eliza finds a letter to Bess who was thought to be murdered 25 years ago. Eliza and her friend, Charlie, start to investigate the story. I would have liked to see more interaction with the other families living on the island, even if it was under the pretense of Eliza investigating and finding more information, to get a little more of a feel of what it was like for Eliza to live there. The book is short and did keep my interest. The ending did seem a bit open ended for me, which made me think that possibly Myers left it that way to do a sequel (?) to bring closure to some of the lesser plot points.
