There are quite a few minor characters, and as the interviews of each by Havers and Lynley are completed a little more of the case and the personalities come out without giving away the ending.
This book was the basis for the pilot of the Inspector Lynley series on PBS, so if a reader is a fan of the series, he or she will find that, as is typical with books to TV or movies, the book is much better.
