Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is an excellent read. The story combines a man from Poland who as a child was sent to a Welsh Island during WWII to attempt to escape the horrors of war, his grandson who thought the grandfather's stories were fairy tales and a fantasy/andventure tale of when the grandson returns to that Welsh Island that his grandfather lived temporarily on.
This is a graphic novel, which I do not normally read, but I found Cassandra Green's illustrations blended excellently with Ransom Riggs's narrative.
I would definitely recommend it to both teens and adults, especially if graphic novels are something they find interesting.
