Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Mystery and Madness

This was a fun read for Halloween. Gris Grimly illustrated 4 of Poe's poems in a way that a preteen/young teen would enjoy being introduced to Poe's with this book. The Black Cat, the Fall of the House of Usher, Hop-Frog, and the Masque of the Red Death are all included in this compilation; a nice starter collection for someone who isn't familiar with Poe or is just picking him up again after an absence. Grimly's illustrations are woven throughout the poems on each page, a little whimsical yet very humorously. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to middle school kids (depending on your kid, maybe/maybe not with adult) and up.
